「ともに歩みましょう」

キリストにあって深く愛されております、玉造カテドラル教会の皆様、

　神様の豊かな慈しみと愛に満ちたご摂理にすべてを委ね、また司教への従順の精神のうちに、この小教区の協力ために私を遣わしてくださった神様に、心からの感謝を捧げます。

　私が司祭叙階の日に選んだ聖書の言葉、ヨハネによる福音書の「彼らのために、私は自分を捧げます」（ヨハネ17・19）にあるように、私の祭司職（ priesthood ）は、皆様の霊魂の救いのために自分自身を完全に使い尽くしてこそ意味があるということを、常に心に深く刻んでおります。この祭司職としての奉仕は、私を皆様から切り離すものではなく、むしろ旅する教会の同伴者として、また一人の謙遜な僕（しもべ）として、共同体の真ん中に私を置くためのものです。

　私たちがともに霊的な命を高めていくために、キリスト者としての生活の核心である「三つの柱」を、皆様とともに育んでいきたいと切に願っております。

　一、 ともに祈ること： 祈りの生活、聖体礼拝、そして何よりもカテドラルで捧げられる日々のミサこそが、私たちを生かす源泉であり頂点です。ともに働く前に、まずはともに主の御もとにとどまりたいと思います。この霊的な交わりのうちに、私は皆様のために日々の祈りと犠牲を絶え間なく捧げることを約束します。と同時に、私が常に主のみ心にかなう牧者であり続けられるよう、皆様の毎日の祈りによって私の弱さを支えてくださるよう、切にお願い申し上げます。

　二、 ともに信仰を育むこと： 多くの試練や変化に満ちた現代社会において、私たちがともに、揺るぎない信仰を深め、強め、そして証ししていくことができるよう願っています。それは単なる義務にとどまるものではなく、愛に満ち、キリストと深く結ばれた、生き生きとした信仰です。

　三、 ともに使命を果たすこと： 福音を告げ知らせ、神の栄光を現すという使命は、私たち一人ひとりに与えられた特権です。評議員の皆様をはじめ、共同体の皆様がすでに持っておられる熱意と豊かな信仰心に倣い、私は謙遜に耳を傾け、協力し、ともに歩みたいと思います。それによって、主の愛の温もりを、私たちの周りの環境へと浸透させていくことができますように。

　私自身の能力は乏しく、限界もあり、多くの至らない点があることを自覚しております。先輩の神父様方から、そして皆様の模範的な信仰生活から、多くのことを学ばせていただかなければなりません。どうぞ私を、一人の小さな兄弟として、また他者の救いのために自らを捧げる一人の奉仕者として、温かく迎え入れてください。私のために祈ってください。心から感謝いたします。

　殉教者たち、聖ペトロと聖パウロ使徒、そして当教会の保護聖人である聖母マリアの取り次ぎによって、全能の神様が私たちの教会のこれからの信仰の歩みを祝福し、聖とし、守ってくださいますように。

“Let Us Walk Together”

              To all the members of Tamatsukuri Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral, who are deeply loved in Christ,

              I offer my heartfelt thanks to God, who has sent me to serve this parish, entrusting everything to God’s providence, which is filled with abundant mercy and love, and in a spirit of obedience to my superiors.

              As expressed in the Scripture passage I chose on the day of my ordination—from the Gospel of John: “I lay down my life for them” (John 17:19)—I always keep deeply engraved in my heart that my priesthood has meaning only when I devote myself entirely to the salvation of your souls. This self-offering does not separate me from you; rather, it places me at the very center of the community as a companion to the pilgrim Church and as a humble servant.

              I earnestly hope that we will grow together in spiritual life, so that we may nurture together the “three pillars” that form the core of the Christian life.

1. Praying Together: Our life of prayer, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and, above all, the daily Mass celebrated in the cathedral are the source and summit of our life. Before we work together, I wish first to remain together in the presence of the Lord. Within this spiritual communion, I promise to offer unceasing daily prayers and sacrifices for all of you. At the same time, I earnestly ask that you support my weaknesses through your daily prayers, so that I may always remain a shepherd who is pleasing to the Lord’s heart.

2. Nurturing Our Faith Together: Today, in a society filled with many trials and changes, I pray that together we may deepen, strengthen, and bear witness to an unshakable faith. This is not merely a duty, but a vibrant faith filled with love and deeply united with Christ.

3. Fulfilling Our Mission Together: The mission to proclaim the Gospel and reveal God’s glory is a privilege granted to each and every one of us. Following the example of the enthusiasm and rich faith already possessed by the members of the Parish Council and the entire community, I wish to listen humbly, cooperate, and walk alongside you. May we thereby allow the warmth of the Lord’s love to permeate the world around us.

              I am fully aware that my own abilities are limited, that I have my shortcomings, and that there are many areas where I fall short. I must learn much from the senior priests and from your exemplary lives of faith. Please welcome me warmly as a humble brother and as a servant who dedicates himself to the salvation of others. Please pray for me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

              Through the intercession of the martyrs, the Apostles Saints Peter and Paul, and the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness of this church, may Almighty God bless, sanctify, and protect our church as it continues on its journey of faith.

For their sakes, I sanctify myself, so that they may be sanctified in truth. (John 17:19
