皆さん、ご復活おめでとう！

イエス・キリストは復活されました！まことに復活されました！
この挨拶は1世紀以来、キリスト教徒に受け継がれてきたものであり、私たちの信仰を如実に表しています。イエス・キリストは復活され、その復活によって新しい創造が始まりました。黙示録にあるように、「見よ、わたしはすべてのものを新しくする」（黙示録21章5節）のです。神は復活によって地のおもてを新たにし、私たちに新しい命を与えてくださいます。これをより分かりやすくお伝えするために、面白い話を一つご紹介したいと思います。マドリードに、私と同じようにひげを生やしている司祭の友人がいます。彼は毎年、復活の徹夜祭の直前にひげを剃ります。私が初めてその姿を見たとき、「なぜひげを剃ったの？」と尋ねました。すると彼はこう答えました。「今夜、神はすべてのものを新しくされるからです。私はこのささやかな仕草で、その現実を表したいのです」。
今年は私はひげを剃りませんが、別のささやかな仕草をもって、神がすべてのものを新しくしてくださるというこの確信を示したいと思います。皆様もご存知の通り、4月中旬から、私は四国という新しい赴任地へと旅立ちます。日本に来てから3年間、素晴らしい時を過ごせた玉造小教区を離れることになります。皆様と共に過ごせたこの時間を、神様に感謝いたします。確かに、私は大切にされ、温かく迎え入れられていると感じてきました。そして、司祭として、私の力の及ぶ限り、皆様のことも大切にしようと努めてきました。日本語での数多くの誤解をはじめ、多くの過ちを犯してきたことと思います。皆様にもお詫び申し上げます。
旅立つ前に、皆さんが心から実践していただきたいと願う4つの助言を、ここに残しておこうと思いました。
- 私を大切にしてくれたように、司祭たちを大切にし、彼らに導かれ、支えてもらって下さい。
- 毎日、少なくとも15分は祈って下さい。
- 聖体とキリストの御体を愛して下さい。
- 月に一度は告解の秘跡を受けて下さい。
私が24歳で成熟したクリスチャンとしての生活を送り始めて以来、私が今お話ししていることはすべて、私にとって祝福の源となってきました。それが皆さんにとっても助けとなることを願っています。
どうか、私と私の新しい使命のために祈ってください。
皆さんへ、心からの抱擁を。

Jesus Christ is risen! He is truly risen!
This greeting has been used by Christians since the first century and beautifully expresses our faith. Jesus Christ is risen, and with his resurrection a new creation has begun. As the Book of Revelation says: “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). God renews the face of the earth through his resurrection and gives us new life. To explain this more simply, I’d like to share a funny story. I have a priest friend in Madrid who, like me, has a beard. And every year, just before the Easter Vigil, he shaves his beard. When I saw him like that for the first time, I asked him, “Why did you shave your beard?” And he replied, “Because tonight God makes all things new, and I want to express that reality with this simple gesture.”
This year I will not shave my beard, but with another simple gesture I would like to show this certainty that God makes all things new. As you all know, starting in mid-April I will be leaving for a new assignment on the island of Shikoku, far from the parish of Tamatsukuri where I have been able to enjoy three wonderful years since I arrived in Japan. I thank God for all this time He has given me together with all of you. I have certainly felt cared for and welcomed. And to the best of my ability, I have also tried to care for you as a priest. I am sure I have made many mistakes, starting with so many misunderstandings with the Japanese language. I also ask your forgiveness.
Before leaving, I had thought to leave you four pieces of advice that I hope all of you will live out fully:
Take care of the priests as you have taken care of me; allow yourselves to be accompanied and guided by them.
Pray for at least 15 minutes every day.
Love the Eucharist and the Body of Christ.
Go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation once a month.
Everything I am telling you has been a source of blessing for me since I began living my Christian life in a mature way at the age of 24. I hope it can help you as well.
Please pray for me and for my new mission.

キリストの光をもたらす者
主のご復活、おめでとうございます

私たちは今、最も大切な出来事を記念し、祝っています。それは、キリストの受難・死・復活という主の過越の神秘です。これを味わうために、私たちは聖週間、そして聖なる三日間の典礼通して、さまざまな儀式にあずかってきました。ここで、少し振り返ってみましょう。
それでは、皆さんにクイズです。
私たちはあるものを持っています。それは、他の人に分け与えても、なくなることも減ることもありません。目に見えるもので、私たちの生活に欠かせないものです。それは何でしょうか。少し立ち止まって、考えてみましょう。
分かりましたか？それとも、もう降参でしょうか。
私たちは復活徹夜祭の初めに、「光の祭儀」を行いました。そのとき、新しい火が灯され、祝福され、復活のろうそくから一人ひとりのろうそくへと光が分け与えられました。火を受け取った人は隣の人にその火を分かち合い、こうして聖堂は光で満たされました。
火は、キリストの光を象徴しています。キリストの光は、私たちの人生を照らし、導いてくださるものです。特に、受洗された方々とともに、私たちはこの光、すなわち信仰の恵みを神に感謝したいと思います。そして同時に、私たちはこの光を他の人にもたらす使命を与えられています。
「あなたがたはキリストの光をもたらす者となりました。主イエス・キリストが来られる時、すべての聖人とともに喜んで主を迎えることができるよう、いつも光の子として歩みなさい。」
火は分かち合っても決して失われることはなく、むしろいっそう強められていきます。
クイズの答えは、「火」でした。
私たちは、いただいている信仰の恵みを神に感謝し、また、人々にイエスを伝える使命を与えられていることを忘れず、日々の生活の中でそれを生き、証ししていくことができますように。
最後に、この二年間、玉造教会の皆さまには大変お世話になりました。玉造教会での奉仕は、私にとって非常に貴重な時間でした。多くの出会い、喜び、体験、支え、そして学びを通して、少しずつ成長することができたと感じています。
これから新たな使命をいただき、新しい場所で奉仕することになります。どうかこれからも、私のためにお祈りくださいますようお願いいたします。

Bearers of Christ’s Light
Congratulations on the Lord’s Resurrection

We are now commemorating and celebrating the most important event of all: the Lord’s Paschal Mystery—the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ. To savor this, we have participated in various liturgical rites throughout Holy Week and the Sacred Triduum. Let us take a moment to look back.
First, here’s a quiz for everyone.
We possess something that, even when shared with others, never disappears or diminishes. It is something visible and indispensable to our lives. What is it? Let’s pause for a moment and think about it.
Have you figured it out? Or have you given up already?
At the beginning of the Easter Vigil, we performed the "Lucernarium," or the "Solemn Beginning of the Vigil," the rite of lighting the candles. At that time, a new fire was lit and blessed, and light was shared from the Paschal candle to each of our candles. Those who received the fire shared it with the person next to them, and in this way, the church was filled with light.
Fire symbolizes the light of Christ. The light of Christ illuminates and guides our lives. Together with those who have been baptized, we wish to give thanks to God for this light—that is, the grace of faith. At the same time, we have been entrusted with the mission to bring this light to others.
“You have become bearers of Christ’s light. Walk always as children of light, so that when the Lord Jesus Christ comes, you may joyfully welcome him together with all the saints.”
Fire is never lost when shared; rather, it grows even stronger. So you see, the answer to the quiz was “fire.”
May we give thanks to God for the grace of faith we have received, never forget that we have been entrusted with the mission to share Jesus with others, and live out and bear witness to this in our daily lives.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at Tamatsukuri Church for your kindness and support over the past two years. My time serving at Tamatsukuri Church has been incredibly precious to me. Through the many encounters, joys, experiences, support, and lessons I have received, I feel that I have been able to grow little by little.
I have now been entrusted with a new mission and will be serving in a new place. I humbly ask that you continue to pray for me.
